Uzhgorod City Hospital Receives Orthopedic Equipment

UMC has been partnering with the Isaiah Mission Foundation, an organization focused on providing orthopedic aid to places in need. Through this partnership, the Isaiah Mission Foundation donated numerous pieces of orthopedic equipment, such as external fixators, to Ukrainian hospitals.

Orthopedic equipment is used to correct injuries to bones and muscles, which are especially prevalent given the nature of the warfare that is occurring in Ukraine. External fixators, for example, set a broken bone in the correct position to be healed, which can be the factor that defines a patient’s future mobility.

The partnership between UMC and the Isaiah Mission Foundation has shown its success in the recent shipment of orthopedic equipment to the Uzhgorod City Hospital in Uzhgorod, Ukraine. The equipment arrived from the US in the past couple days, and has already made an enormous difference in the surgeries performed by the orthopedic surgeons at the hospital.

UMC would like to thank that Isaiah Mission Foundation for making this delivery possible, as well as the work of the Institute for Emergency Medicine for transporting and collaborating on providing this equipment.
