Concert + Vyshivanka Sale for Ukrainian Orphanages
This week in New York, UMC hosted a wonderful fundraiser concert and silent auction to support an orphanage in Ukraine. The orphanage was displaced by the war, forcing the children to live in terrible conditions. UMC has been working with the orphanages to improve the condition of the buildings that the children are living in. The children in the home are ages 0-6 years.
The concert was hosted at the Rudolf Steiner School in New York City and featured classical music from students of Ukrainian descent, a silent auction, and a Vyshivanka, traditional embroidered Ukrainian shirts, sale.
The concert was very successful, yielding $12,000 in donations that will go directly to support the children in the orphanage. Many attendees commented on the emotion and heart that was put into the concert and were deeply moved by the music.
