Northwell Health deploys telemedicine to Ukraine

Northwell Health, a large healthcare system in New York, is providing telemedicine support to Ukraine in response to the ongoing war. The health system works with the Ukrainian military to launch telemedicine platforms in several undisclosed health centers.

The telemedicine platforms allow Ukrainian physicians to consult with world-renowned specialists in the New York region.

The Northwell Centralized Transfer Center, which has a long history of providing telemedicine services, manages the telemedicine initiative. The center uses a variety of mobile platforms, including laptops, mobile devices, and tablets, to ensure that the telemedicine services are accessible to all Ukrainian healthcare providers.

In addition to providing telemedicine services, Northwell Health is also providing other forms of humanitarian aid to Ukraine. The health system has donated more than $210,000 to Doctors Without Borders and has shipped 18,000 pounds of medical supplies to the country.
