IEM's ITLS Training Help Save Lives in Ukraine

The Institute for Emergency Medicine (IEM), a partner of the Ukraine Medical Consortium (UMC), certifies and provides emergency medicine courses and training in Poland.

In 2000 IEM introduced the first certified International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) training in advanced life-saving procedures in prehospital care.

For over 18 years, IEM organized training courses certified by international organizations, including the American Heart Association and the European Resuscitation Council.

IEM has carried out initiatives which exerted a major influence on the current system of emergency medicine in Poland. Polish regulations regarding the vocational training of paramedics and dispatchers were created on the basis of original training programs provided by IEM.

IEM, in partnership with the UMC, is the only organization providing accredited training to emergency workers, journalists, and civilians traveling to Ukraine, at the following capacity:

2 training sessions per weekend

● Groups of 22-24 people

● Cost per participant: $70

IEM and UMC have 1000 remaining tourniquets to be provided to recipients of ITLS training.

This is sufficient to account for 12 weekends of full capacity training sessions, which is only possible with financial support to account for the costs per participant, which will total to $38,000.
