Dr. Meyers’ writings include Civiс War (University of Chicago Press), an account of how a culture of war shaped political life in the United States in the late 20th century. Associated with the Centre d'études des normes juridiques Yan Thomas (EHESS-Paris), his recent projects include historical and sociological research to support reform of Higher Education in the United States (with the American Council of Learned Societies) and development of The Civic Inquirer, an innovative experiment in the formation of civic relationships, seeking a new balance of expertise and democratic autonomy in everyday pragmatic inquiry by citizens.
